Turkman rugs come from north-eastern Iran and are made by the Turkish speaking nomadic and settled Turkman tribes. The designs are based on linear, repeating patterns of octagonal shapes, known as “Gül”, which are different for each tribe. The dominant colour palette is red; however all other colour variations are possible in these classic nomadic rugs.
