Meshgin is a small village near Ardabil near the Caspian Sea. In Ardabil is made one of the world's most famous carpets, now deposited in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Historically, Herat's symbol is used, but the newest carpets have also bold geometric shapes. Colours vary from beige to rust-brown, also a strong blue tone is used.
